Clay, a natural ally against bug season?

Bug season

In Quebec (and elsewhere) the arrival of the beautiful season doesn't only rhyme with pleasure and dolce vita. Our entire beautiful collection of biting insects gradually arrives and is ready to sadistically target the horse in many well-hidden or defenseless places. Little black flies, mosquitoes, deer flies, biting stable flies, horseflies... have I forgotten any? In any case, at home I have them all and my valiant black horse tastes them like a titi because he, more than the others, attracts them all.
All these little creatures are doing their best to make the summer season not always pleasant for them. In any case, mine spend much more time sheltered, indoors in summer than in winter. Between the sometimes oppressive heat, the humidity, and the insects, our horses need a lot of attention, just as special in summer.
Do you have a horse that tends to have skin allergies, hives, summer dermatitis? Or seasonal lung allergies? (More specific articles are in preparation.)
If YES, focus on prevention starting in March. This will help prepare his blood, particularly with a histamine plant par excellence, namely: NETTLE. Start giving him pure dried nettle in his food or with its vitamins and minerals.

This helps prepare him for the most severe attacks. This won't prevent everything, especially not in the first year, but it will help and provide relief. Of course, we'll also protect him every day with one of the products on the market to make his life more comfortable.
Everyone has their own choice. There are many products, recipes, covers, etc., some more or less effective. It's up to you to decide. I know you'll always think you're doing the best you can.
For me, it is really my conviction and the reality if I look at animals in the wild, the most natural is without a doubt GREEN CLAY POWDER which will stay in place, once applied, on the parts at risk (genitals, under the belly, navel, behind the elbows, chest, trough etc.) The clay will also disinfect and protect for future bites. The clay will also be a great protection against summer dermatitis.
